There is a LinkGrabber option to standardize Assembly names by replacing "." and "_" with space. Ideally, this would be changed to a SED format filter. The default would be s/[_-.]/ /g \n s/\w\w/ /g

The name of the file to download is fixed by the host. However, this is just part of the URI, not the file name for saving the file.

The file name to save into should be stored separately from the name segment of the URI. There is already a Feature Request to allow editing of the save-to name (in-place editing in the Properties Panel would be best).

This request is to automatically apply a substitution filter (SED format) to the save-to file names before they are stored in the link properties.

The main purpose of this feature is to allow better mirror and assembly detection (need to add - to the substituted characters). When an uploader uses a multi-upload program, the names are changed to meet the requirements of the host (dots between name parts or dots are not allowed).

Intended for the release in which the database is reworked. The assumption is that this is after download engine and before event manager.
