Description

When a filename is too long, it is arbitrarily cut off at the end of the balloon (see sample for 9759 in Board thread. The other problems discussed in that thread appear to be resolved in 10535. However, the long filename problem is still in Nightly. When I checked my links, I found some over 80 characters long, so I do not think widening the balloon to hold the entire name will work well.

Recommendation: Size balloon to hold at least 45 characters. Long file names should be shown as:
The first 30 characters (or more if balloon is wider), with any trailing period removed,
An ellipsis (...),
The last ten characters (with any leading period removed).

For example: URL: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QJZVHK1Y (72 characters)

Chinatown.Roman.Polanski.1974.720p.Xvid.Ac3.2.0.HDTV.Jatin17.part01.rar
Chinatown.Roman.Polanski.1974...part01.rar

Superman.Batman.Public.Enemies...part1.rar
(notice the removed [period from the suffix).

I consider retaining the part number and extension very important.
Additional test URLs:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A98781IM

Removing the periods is less important than limiting the size, providing the ellipsis, and keeping the part and extension.
